Press & History

Skeledog is an original dog breed skeleton apparel brand, founded in 2007 and relaunched in 2026.

The story

In 2007, Skeledog shirts were sold in pet shops and design shops around the world, from design boutiques in New York City to small pet stores in Tokyo. Write-ups on the shirts, none of them paid, ran in most major dog magazines.

The t-shirt business was far more labor-intensive for a small design shop in 2007, and the grind eventually wore down the Skeledog team. Since then, print-on-demand technology has made the business much friendlier to creators and designers. The brand and its designs held up through a nearly two-decade hiatus, and people kept asking the original founder to bring the shirts back. In 2026, Skeledog officially relaunched.

As seen on TODAY

On December 16, 2008, pet lifestyle expert Dara Foster featured Skeledog in her holiday pet gift guide on NBC's TODAY show, picking the shirts as a best pet-related Christmas gift. Watch the segment.

What makes Skeledog different

Most dog apparel relies on a photo of a dog pasted onto a shirt. Skeledog takes that love for a breed and pairs it with real design: clean skeleton line art, playful designer-chosen colors and crisp branding, so the shirts appeal to design-minded people as much as to devoted breed owners.
