Hometown Coverage

We were thrilled to spot our skele-poodle in the Easter Sunday edition of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. We were featured on the Style page in practically the same breath as Karl Lagerfeld and Lilly Pulitzer. Long live the newspaper!

Holiday Hits

Indie Craft Experience

It was another weekend packed with crafty goodness! Hundreds of creative types and holiday shoppers packed the Indie Craft Experience Shopping Spectacular at Ambient + Studio, not far from Skeledog headquarters in Atlanta.

Our tiny booth was right by the DJ and the eggnog. With a steady stream of old and new friends and delighted customers, the whole day felt like a party! And sales were totally making our spirits bright. Let’s just say, lots of good little boys and girls will be finding skeledog tees under the tree this year…

Chomped and Stomped

Chomp and Stomp No Parking

Crisp sunshine and buckets of chili drew the masses to Cabbagetown Park yesterday for the annual Chomp and Stomp festival. Meanwhile, down at the artists market, we found a new way of luring customers into the skeletent– Foxie Brown in her hammock:

It worked like a charm!

There are lots of dog lovers and tee junkies in these parts. As usual, we made some new friends and took votes for the next breed. This guy introduced us to the “schnocker” (schnauzer + cocker spaniel):

Schnooker

It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood and a fun start to the holiday season. Huge thanks to everyone who dropped by our tent!

ICE Atlanta Holiday 2008

We haven’t even carved our pumpkins yet, and it’s already time to start thinking about Christmas shopping… Thankfully, the well-timed Indie Craft Experience has something magically crafty for everyone on your list, including Atlanta’s finest skeleton dog t-shirts.

Come see the Skeledog “booth” and frolic among the region’s best crafters, Saturday, November 15 from 11am to 6pm.

This indoor event will be in a new location this year: Ambient Plus Studio in the West End. And we’ve got the east side covered the weekend before at the Cabbagetown Chomp & Stomp. So much good stuff in the ATL this fall… join us, won’t you?

 Cleo the Dachshund

What could be cuter than a dachshund convention?
A bunch of doxies in Halloween costumes, of course.

Last weekend, Charles and Foxie, the original skeledogs, attended HOWL-O-WEENIE 2008, a day of dachshund-gawking, bluegrass, costumes, tail-wagging and face-kissing contests sponsored by DREAM (an Atlanta dachshund Rescue group).

Foxie took second place in her wiener dog race. And Highland Pet Supply was on hand with a big batch of skeledog dachshunds for sale.

If you missed the spectacle, we’ll be back in Cabbagetown Park on Saturday, November 8 for the Chomp & Stomp festival. We can’t promise as many wiener dogs, but the music, 5K and Chili cookoff will be awesome. See you there!

T-shirt weather

Yesterday was hot. Ridiculously hot. Record-setting hot. The “heat index” climbed up to 100-105 degrees, but that didn’t stop hundreds of crafty fans, friends and family from strolling down to Centennial Olympic Park for the Indie Craft Experience. skeledog tent at indie craft experience atlanta

In between passing the battery-operated fan and running through the fountains, we made some new friends– crafters from NashvilleChicago and right here in the ATL, caught up with old friends, scored some one-of-a-kind jewelrysoaps and other goodies, and sold loads of t-shirts!

We have the festival fever and are applying to several more this summer and fall. Thanks to everyone who made ICE such an amazing event! It was inspiring to see downtown Atlanta looking so lively.

Kirkwood Flung

Skeledog Tent
We were flinging skeleton dog t-shirts all day Saturday at the nicest little Spring festival in town, the Kirkwood Fling! The mild, breezy weather brought out a steady stream of old friends and new, plus lots and lots of dog lovers. We were entertained and delighted by people’s instant reactions to our designs.  cash transactionLila caught this photo in mid-transaction. Stella’<p>s collar Here’s Stella, our newest PR weapon. westies And these stylish Westies may have earned their place on the list of upcoming breeds. Indie Craft Experience Atlanta

Mark your calendars for ICE-Atlanta on June 7th in Centennial Olympic Park! Skeledog was selected to be one of the 100 awesome vendors who make this event one of the most hotly anticipated art events in town.

Every summer, downtown Atlanta gets a punch of witty, unexpected design from independent artists from all over the nation. Our electrified, x-ray vision, see-thru bony dog tees will fit right in!

The Resurrection of Young Blood

 Young Blood Gallery Boutique

We are excited to be part of the rebirth of Atlanta’s unofficial indie design headquarters, Young Blood Gallery and Boutique! For a decade, YBG has been showcasing emerging artists, independent designers and crafters from a small storefront in East Atlanta. Now they have a fancy new space in the pedestrian- (and dog-) friendly Virginia Highlands neighborhood. The boutique will feature all the skeledog breeds alongside racks of clever posters, zines, fashions, artwork and other goodies. Check out the goods at the Grand Re-opening party on May 10th!

Coming soon to Kirkwood

Kirkwood Fling image

Hey y’all, come see our tent at the Kirkwood Fling on Saturday, May 17!

It’s Springtime in Atlanta and that means pollen, azaleas and neighborhood festivals every weekend. Our tees were a hit with the Humane Society crowd, surrounded by pet products and services… how will we fare in a open air artist’s market?

Kirkwood is a charming, historic neighborhood on the eastside of Atlanta. We’re thinking this dog-loving community will be a great test market for our sense of doggie style. One of the festival organizers is already petitioning for a special edition skele-corgi!
